In the Atlantic Kino in Warsaw 220 inner city highschool students filled the cinema hall to the brim for the screening of “Garden state”. The pre-screening talk included a psychotherapist from Nowowiejski Hospital (soon to be a downtown mental health centre) and a co-facilitator of the already numerous alliance events. Instead of commercials – before the film they watched an animation about depression with the voice of Krystyna Janda, artistic director from the theatre in Konstytucji Square. This is how the Warsaw Downtown District works to destigmatize depression in the local community.
