European Mental Health Week

In 2023 Mental Health Europe presents the fourth edition of the European Mental Health Week (EMHW) from May 22 to May 28, 2023. The theme for this year’s activities is “Mentally healthy Communities”, aiming to raise awareness and knowledge about mental health in various settings and communities such as schools, workplaces, homes, etc. EMHW aims to create an environment in which individuals can thrive, by promoting destigmatisation, mental health education as well as awareness raising. It emphasizes the importance of mental well-being in fostering thriving communities.

Declaration Against Depression by the local communities of Metropolis GZM

Through the implementation of the EAAD method from the EAAD-Best project funded by the European Health and Digital Executive Agency (HaDEA), our Polish partners seek to bring about positive change in local communities. As part of European Mental Health Week, all 41 local communities of Metropolis GZM have been invited to sign the Declaration Against Depression in support of EU Best Practice for public mental health. Stakeholder Meetings in Brussels – 2023. April 27th

The European Alliance Against Depression (EAAD) is organizing a one-day Stakeholder Meeting on Community-based Interventions Targeting Depression and Suicidal Behavior on the 27th of April 2023 in Brussels. The aim of the event, supported by the European Union project EAAD-Best, is to foster the exchange of experiences and knowledge related to depression treatment strategies and the prevention of suicidal behavior among European stakeholders.We welcome all civil and society organisations, foundations and associations to the event, since preventing depression and suicidal behavior is a complex task that goes beyond the boundaries of healthcare and requires global attention.

European Alliance Against Depression (EAAD) offers the most promising method to prevent suicide

A meta-analysis published in September 2022 by an independent group of researchers evaluated 47 international studies examining different approaches to suicide prevention published that were issued between January 2010 and November 2020. The detailed review found that the 4-level intervention concept developed by the European Alliance Against Depression (EAAD) is the most promising tool for suicide prevention.
