Discussion and Q&A session for parents was held on the 27th of June on the topic of “Depression in teenagers and young adults: prevention, indications and what kind of treatment should be provided”. The discussion was led by Elka Bozhkova – a clinical psychologist.
The event took place in the SPOC’s office and around 15 people joined the discussion. Most of them were parents of teenagers or young people suffering from depression.

On the 30th of June a Seminar for psychology and medicine students on the topic of “Working with patients with depression: examples from the clinical practice” was held in the event hall of G8 – cultural centre. The seminar was led by Dr Yuri Katzarov- a clinical psychologist. 28 students from the medical university and psychology students from Sofia University and New Bulgarian University participated in the seminar.
Some of the main topics discussed were:
– What are the specifics of working with people with depression
– Suicide prevention
– Work ethics when working with patients with depression
